Transformative Digital Initiative: MAIP's ​Collaboration with Softbox Sdn Bhd 


Majlis Agama Islam Perlis (MAIPs) is undergoing ​a digital transformation led by Millennium Radius ​Sdn Bhd, with Softbox Sdn Bhd as a key ​subcontractor. Starting in 2024 and valued at ​RM7,100,000 for Softbox, this project aims to ​modernize MAIPs' services by 2027. Central to this ​initiative is the development of the Sistem ​Perkhidmatan Maklumat MAIPs (SPMMPs), an ​integrated system replacing the current one. ​SPMMPs will streamline access for zakat payers, ​waqf contributors, agencies, and beneficiaries, ​enhancing service delivery and operational ​efficiency. The project includes Core System, E-​Services, Support System, Portal Development, ​Cloud Environment, Change Management, and ​Maintenance. It covers business and system ​requirements, customization, module ​development, testing, and user training. ​Managed services ensure ongoing support and ​system updates. Digital Towerco Transformation Project for ​Konsortium Jaringan Selangor

Starting in March 2024, Konsortium Jaringan ​Selangor Sdn Bhd (KJS) partners with Softbox for ​the Digital Towerco Transformation Project. This ​initiative aims to redefine KJS's role in the ​telecom sector by enhancing operational ​efficiencies, maximizing portfolio value, and ​introducing innovative revenue streams to meet ​the escalating demand for 5G infrastructure and ​data-intensive applications. Leveraging cutting-​edge digital platforms and advanced portfolio ​management tools, KJS focuses on optimizing ​asset management processes and ensuring ​robust performance. The ongoing project ​underscores KJS's commitment to maintaining a ​competitive edge while prioritizing customer-​centricity and operational excellence. Maxis USP Portal 750 Sites Development ​Project

Our company successfully completed the Maxis ​USP Portal Development Project in 2010, with ​maintenance services extended until 2015. ​Following the conclusion of our direct contract ​with Maxis, we have continued to maintain the ​project under contracts with Red Tone Sdn Bhd ​and Nera Sdn Bhd, extending our involvement ​until 2024. This landmark project included the ​development and maintenance of 750 sites, with ​an initial project cost of RM14,000,000 and ​RM5,000,000 allocated for five years of ​maintenance. We managed content for 500 USP5 ​and 250 CSKC websites, implemented regular ​updates, and provided a robust Content ​Management System (CMS) tailored for CSKC ​websites. Our comprehensive hosting services ​ensured seamless access and optimal ​performance for all sites. Additionally, we ​published 18 bi-monthly issues of the Aspirasi ​Digital Bulletin over three years and maintained ​the Aspirasi Digital Portal for five years, ​showcasing our expertise in scalable web ​development, content management solutions, ​and digital communication strategies that ​enhance operational efficiency and digital ​presence. Comprehensive Build Design Transfer and ​Infrastructure Development Project for ​Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP)

Softbox Sdn Bhd played a pivotal role as a ​subcontractor for i-Swift Sdn Bhd in the ​comprehensive build design transfer project for ​Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP). From the ​inception of the main campus development, ​Softbox Sdn Bhd undertook crucial ​responsibilities in establishing a robust network ​infrastructure. This included structured cabling, ​fiber optics deployment, installation of network ​equipment, PABX systems, CCTV systems, door ​access solutions, and development of a data ​center tailored specifically for UniMAP. ​Additionally, Softbox Sdn Bhd implemented a ​microwave network using dishes to connect the ​distributed campuses of UniMAP, ensuring ​seamless communication across all locations. ​The project, valued at RM55.000,000 across four ​phases from 2008 to 2015, was successfully ​executed with meticulous attention to detail and ​operational readiness at every milestone. Our ​commitment to excellence was further ​underscored by securing an extensive 5+3-year ​maintenance contract covering all implemented ​systems and infrastructure, thereby ​guaranteeing sustained performance and ​reliability. Exinda Bandwidth Management Project for ​GITN Sdn Bhd (a Telekom Malaysia ​Subsidiary)

Our company successfully executed the ​RM19,488,400 Exinda Bandwidth Management ​Project for GITN Sdn Bhd, a Telekom Malaysia ​Berhad subsidiary, over a five-year period from ​January 5, 2012, to January 4, 2017. This ​comprehensive project encompassed supplying, ​delivering, installing, testing, commissioning, and ​providing post-acceptance maintenance and ​support services for Exinda equipment. We ​ensured all equipment was custom-designed, ​supplied, and installed according to contract ​specifications, rigorously tested, and ​commissioned to meet high-performance ​standards. Throughout the contract, we delivered ​prompt invoicing and payments upon ​equipment acceptance. Our commitment to ​utilizing local resources underscored efficiency ​and supported GITN's local economic goals. This ​project exemplifies our capability in delivering ​complex IT solutions, prioritizing reliability, ​performance, and customer satisfaction. (2012-​2017)

MINISTRY OF ENERGY WATER AND ​COMMUNICATIONS INTERACTIVE KIOSK ​DEVELOPMENT

The kiosk project involves developing multimedia ​applications on the Low Energy Office building ​information, Corporate Video, Introduction Video, ​Personnel Directory Application and Integration ​with E-Services applications which include PDRM ​Summons Inquiry & Payment, JPJ Summons ​Inquiry & Payment, JPJ Kejara Points Inquiry, TNB ​Bill Presentment and Payment, TMB Bill ​Presentment and Payment. JABATAN PEMBETUNGAN PORTAL DEVELOPMENT

The organisation needs a portal that can be ​integrated with their legacy systems. Data must ​be published from their various systems at ​different geographical locations such as the ​Sistem Produk, Sistem Perlesenan, Status ​Kelulusan Pelan and etc. (Year 2005)

JABATAN AIR PORTAL DEVELOPMENT

A portal with a content publishing system and ​more than 50 people as the editor of the portal. ​The portal allows a publishing flow that is tightly ​integrated with their e-mail system. (Year 2005)

THE KEMENTERIAN DALAM NEGERI (KDN) ​ELECTRONIC BOARD


The KDN E-Board system provides a means ​of communication, information center and a ​corporate image tool for the organisation. ​The system consists of a middleware ​application that enables easy deployment ​and management of integration ​components within KDN such as the KDN ​intranet and website portal applications. The ​KDN E-Board system enhances KDN's ​communication and service delivery ​channels, provides enjoyable audience ​experience while delivering bottom line ​value to the audience. (Year 2005)

THE SPECIAL COMMISSION OF THE ROYAL ​POLICE PORTAL DEVELOPMENT


A highly publicised portal due to the ​publicity in the mainstream media. We were ​given the task to develop a portal that would ​enable the public to send their reports, ​inquiries and suggestions to the ​commission. The portal has to possess an ​administration engine with reporting and ​statistical reports tools. We were given 7 ​days to deliver the job. Job delivered. (Year ​2004-2005)

MINISTRY OF INFORMATION PUSAT SUMBER ​PORTAL ILMU ENHANCEMENT


The project include the development of new ​applications namely the Document ​Management System (DMS), Sistem Aduan ​Pelanggan (SAP) and integration of these ​applications with the existing Portal Ilmu ​System. The system allows the department ​to bring in more departments into their ​portal as their user, as well as saving ​hardware & software cost by sharing the ​same machines and system. These ​applications was developed fully on Open ​Source JAVA and LDAP. (Year 2004)

SMART SMS ASSISTANT PROJECT FOR THE ​MINISTRY OF ENERGY COMMUNICATIONS AND ​MULTIMEDIA


A smart messaging system that is utilized in the ​office environment. The system provided a ​management tool that helped personnel to ​perform their job functions better, be more ​organised and more effective. The system ​consists of four major functions; Email Assistant, ​Appointment Coordinator, Information ​Broadcaster and an Administration Console. ​(Year 2004)

THE SURUHANJAYA TENAGA PORTAL ​DEVELOPMENT

Creating a portal for this newly formed authority ​commission are both challenging and ​adventurous. On one hand, we had very limited ​resources from the commission to construct the ​pages since there are not many prior design ​guidelines or materials. On the other hand, it ​gave us the chance to explore and try more ​unconventional design concepts. The final output ​of this project resulted in a colorful and ​asymmetrical design that seldom can be found ​on the world wide web. (Year 2002-2004)

OPEN UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA UNIVERSITY PORTAL

As a virtual university, it is important for the ​university to have an effective way of ​disseminating and sharing of information ​between the management, lecturers and ​students. The portal is a one-stop-shop for ​everybody to get relevant information, ​communicate and even share their experience. ​With this portal nobody is a stranger. (Year 2002)

INISTRY OF INFORMATION BAHAGIAN ​PEROLEHAN CONTRACT MONITORING ​SYSTEM

The system was developed to assist the ​department in monitoring each contract ​given to local contractors. Features include ​project background, contractor background, ​implementation time-line and reports. (Year ​2004)

NATIONAL LIBRARY ISLAMIC DIGITAL LIBRARY

The Islamic Digital Library is a portal that ​segregate all Islamic content from Malaysia, ​making it available for the international ​community. With our partner, Alam ​Teknokrat Sdn Bhd (Skali) we developed this ​portal using PHP (Open Source tools) and ​their application server called MX/AE. (Year ​2004)

THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE, ARTS & TOURISM ​PORTAL DEVELOPMENT

One of the most difficult designs that we ​have to create due to the client demands ​and restrictions. We came up with a simple ​design that borrowed the concept of a ​glossy magazine cover. The front page ​highlighted upcoming main events with very ​few buttons that mattered such as helpdesk ​and contact. Other than that, all the multi ​layered content is tucked inside the pop up ​menu. This is to simplify the layout and to ​guide visitors to the main events. (Year 2001-​2003)

CYBERJAYA COMMUNITY PORTAL, MEGAJAYA ​CCC

As a technology driven township area, Cyberjaya ​needed to provide more than just property to its ​community which consist of businesses, ​residents and students. This portal provides the ​essential communication features which include ​single inbox (email, voice & fax), calendaring, ​virtual space and contact manager. (Year 2000)

THE BUSINESS FOCUS GROUP BERHAD ​WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT

For this project, we were required to develop ​a website and a multimedia presentation for ​the launch ceremony officiated by the Prime ​Minister at Lima 99, Langkawi. The project ​was a success and received numerous ​praise from the audience. (Year 1999-2003)

Y2K REPORTING SYSTEM FOR UNIVERSITI ​TEKNOLOGI MALAYSIA

A project co-developed with the Institut ​Teknologi Perisian, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. ​The project was to build a nerve center for Y2K ​Bug reporting facilities for the entire country. The ​web based system was carefully planned as the ​system would have to withstand the worst case ​scenario - when every organisation in the ​country has to access and report to the center ​simultaneously. (Year 1999-2000)

BERJAYA GROUP BERHAD WEB DEVELOPMENT

Berjaya Group Berhad had a web server ​running on Sun Solaris, and the limited ​capabilities of web browsers back then ​made our design work really difficult. This ​project includes systems and network ​administration for Sun Solaris platform, ​implementation of processes for automated ​database versioning and installation, and ​HTML authoring using enhancements for ​Netscape v3.0 and MS Internet Explorer v3.01. ​(Year 1997-1999)

TTHE MINISTRY OF ENERGY, ​COMMUNICATIONS & MULTIMEDIA PORTAL ​DEVELOPMENT

Following contemporary trends of portals ​that are shaped by more and more ​sophisticated end users, the Ministry portal ​was developed by adapting the workings of ​a conventional publication, important news ​and contents were pushed to the front page, ​making the whole portal more transparent ​to end users. With the combination of ​insightful layout structure and intelligent ​web engine, more relevant content could be ​brought forward to the user’s attention. (Year ​1997-2005)

SIRIM INTERNET BASED KIOSK

Visitors to the SIRIM campus can browse ​important information via this kiosk as it is ​integrated to the back-end databases. This ​lowers down the needs for users to actually ​talk the relevant officer when they are ​looking for a particular information. (Year ​1998)
